Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is specifically focused on teaching with evidence based research in both Nutrition and Food Science. Our work is important as poor nutrition and inadequate physical activity are known to increase the risk of a range of chronic health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, osteoporosis, cancer and under nutrition, all of which are common worldwide. With increasing community awareness on issues of nutrition and health, it is no surprise that there is a growing demand for specialists in these fields.
Our Department provides a vibrant environment for learning about Nutrition and Food Science. We offer a course in Nutrition and Dietetics at Undergraduate and Food Science and Nutrition course at Postgraduate level. More in-depth study on Human Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Food Science, Food Safety, Nutrition Counseling Nutritional Biochemistry, Physiology, Food Product Development and Sports Nutrition is done at Postgraduate course.
One should have passed 10,+2 or equivalent with minimum aggregate of 50%(45% for SC/ST) marks from a recognized board. The student should have chemistry in 10,+2 and scored minimum 60% marks in chemistry.
