B.COM – INDUSTRY INTEGRATED

With the Indian economy opening up to global challenges and competition gearing up to dizzy heights, young people struggle to possess and carry the skills and competencies required for the global employment markets.

At the other end Educational institutions are working in isolation without regard to the skill requirements of the industry and society. Due to this widening gap between educational institutions and the needs of the Industry, more specially in the case of Business education, there is a need to ensure that education reflects changing work tasks and employment structures; and providing young people with experience in real work settings so that Business schools in our country should be able to create a new generation of business leaders, Entrepreneurs and not just business managers, who could provide leadership to make our country an economic super power in another couple of decades.

Hence an attempt is being made to blend B.com education with needs of the industry and society by providing for conceptual understanding skill development, competency development, on the Job learning and professional attitudes. Thus B.com (Industry Integrated) program is more application oriented and gives practical exposure to the students along with the classroom theoretical knowledge of business & industry.

The program methodology differs significantly from the traditional method. This program blends Industry Exposure (Internship in Manufacturing Industry for two months, Internship in Service Industry for two months, Community Project in a village for two weeks, Internship in an NGO for one month, and Business Problem based project in the area of specialization for two months) with Academic Knowledge(48 subjects) on a fifty-fifty basis and is intended to prepare ready to be employed Business Graduates with commitment, concern and value system

Objectives of the Course:

  • To give an insight into the various Functional areas of Business.
  • To impart certain Skills that will be useful in taking Decisions and Managing Business.
  • To provide a Global view of the Macro Environment influencing business decisions.
  • To develop their Personality and make them Responsible Citizens with greater awareness about Business, Society and Ethics in Business.
  • To impart required Computer Skills to keep pace with the adaptation of Technology in Business.
  • To Provide on the Job experience Through Internship and Projects
